MEDICATION REFILLS

Who should I call to obtain a refill of my medication?
Call your regular or mail order pharmacy, even if the bottle says "No refills". The pharmacy will take care of the process to provide you with your medicine. Have your prescription number, the name of the medicine, the dose, and your doctor's name ready when you call the pharmacy (this information can be found on the bottle).

When is the best time to call the pharmacy for medication refills?
Please request medication refills on weekdays. Your doctor (and your chart) is available during the week to review your specific needs.

How long will it take to get my refill?
Please allow 48 hours. The pharmacy may need to review your request with your provider. Request refills several days before you run out of medicine.

What else can I do to make this process quicker and easier?
Prior to a doctor's appointment, check your medications to determine if you need any refills. If you do, please inquire about the prescription at the time of your office visit. Bring your medication bottles with you if you are not sure.
Some medicine refills require a written prescription, and according to law, cannot be called in by telephone. Schedule an appointment with your primary doctor. Please try to anticipate the need for refills, and call in advance
